Rollbar Install |
|
In late November of 2003 I installed a Boss Frog dual hoop roll bar. It was a difficult install, probably the toughest install I have done to date, though I have only been a shade tree mechanic for two years or so. My install was particularly tough, because the weekend I set aside to do it. It rained like a motha in Houston. In fact it rained so much many areas flooded (mine didn't luckily, but my office parking lot did). Normaly any of my car work wouldn't be really affected by the weather, but since my garage is not too level, I did the install in the driveway since it's a lot more level. The whole install lasted about 5 days off and on, due to weather, but most of the time I didnt let it stop me. I spent a lot of my time hunched in the car (take the seats out whatever you do, the instructions say its optional, but you SHOULD do it, I did and it and I couldnt imagine not doing it) with the top up and rain pounding down. Other times I was under the car, staying dry while my roomate/helper was standing in the rain doing stuff on the interior. But I was determined, and made sure to be productive when it wasnt raining, or just raining lightly. I did tak a LOT of pictures, which I hope can help some people, and I did take away a couple ideas and warnings to people who are about to try this. All of these pics will be up shortly, and if you want to see pics of the finished product, click on "General Pics". -Russ |
